Home Community Blog Building Resilience, Character, and Success at Ģý

At Ģý, we recognize that learning requires a multifaceted approach with focus on academics, but also interpersonal learning, relational skills, character growth, self-awareness, and emotional competency. Without supporting all of these facets, we are skipping necessary steps to promote resiliency and success for our student body. Ģý’s Counseling Department facilitates a proactive framework designed to support all of these areas of growth and development.

By integrating available resources, such as counseling support, into the fabric of the student experience, we ensure that the pursuit of intellectual excellence is supported by robust mental health resources. Students are encouraged to utilize the support offered by the counselors in the Wellness Center when they are faced with challenges in academic rigor, peer dynamics, stress, anxiety, and other common areas of difficulty for students. This approach allows students to navigate academic demands while maintaining the psychological fortitude necessary for long-term success.

Those resources include, but are not limited to:

  • Quiet Testing Center: Provides small group testing accommodations to students with specific learning needs
  • Homework Center: Provides students with a quiet, focused homework environment
  • Math Lab: A dedicated space for regular math support from any member of our Math department
  • Counselor Drop-In: Counselors are readily available for both scheduled appointments and drop-in sessions
  • Wellness Center: Provides a warm and inviting environment for students to decompress, relax, and regulate in order to support their learning after moments of stress

Ultimately, our objective is to equip students with the character-driven strengths required  to pursue a life of meaning and purpose. By addressing the whole adolescent experience, we are able to ensure that Ģý graduates possess not only the intellectual capacity to succeed in higher education but also the emotional maturity and ethical grounding to lead impactful, meaningful lives.
